MEET AMANDA ...

Amanda started her career as a journalist where she managed her first front page news piece after only three weeks on the job. From there she accelerated as a writer, managing to find interesting angles for features and interviews alike.

In her 30 years as a journalist, she covered almost every aspect of the media industry, from hard news, social issues, finances, entertainment, lifestyle, and travel. Amanda was also the founding editor of the first Afrikaans parenting magazine in South Africa, Baba & Kleuter (Baby & Toddler).

The last 10 years of her career as a journalist, she returned to her roots as a newspaper journalist, thriving on the adrenaline of the dreaded daily deadline. In her tenure as an entertainment writer at the South African daily newspaper Beeld, she quickly made a name as one of the best in her field in the country. Amanda interviewed several well-known international celebrities as part of her job, amongst others, the cast of the hit series, Desperate Housewives, Morgan Freeman, Gerald  Butler, Aaron Eckhart, to name but a few.

During her career as a journalist, Amanda has also found the time for one of her other passions, the translation of books into either Afrikaans or English. Her ability to capture the voice of the original author in another language, coupled with speed and accuracy, made her a popular choice for this work amongst publishers.

Towards the end of 2014, at the age of 53 and after a very successful career as a journalist, Amanda made a career change.

Training as a life coach with Colleen-Joy Page, a well-known life coach and owner of the ICF accredited school Inner Life Skills International, she received her Master Coach qualification.

Since then, Amanda has started her practice, and as Change Strategist, focused on helping her clients change their lives, in small or great ways.

As a life coach, specializing in change, Amanda understands the value of the small nips and tucks in life as well as the challenges that go hand in hand with life-altering transitions and change.

She has also successfully published her first book, a self-coaching workbook over 52 weeks, taking people through processes of healing and recovery during life’s most trying times.

Suurlemoenseisoen: Herbou jou lewe in 52 weke is a unique concept, with nothing similar available in the market. (The title is a wordplay on the well-known English expression, “When Life gives you Lemons” and directly translated means “Season of Lemons”.)

As someone who loves language and writing, Amanda has not scaled down on her writing activities. She still works as a language practitioner, translator, and columnist whenever the opportunity arises.

She is also a regular guest on the popular radio show, Met Hart en Siel (With Heart and Soul) broadcasted on Radio Pulpit where she discusses topics from a life coach point of view with host Christine Ferreira.

Amanda is passionate about bringing people into their true purpose and empowering them in that journey.
